For Me and Mine...

Anytime the "Media" and Hollywood folks have dealt harshly with Sarah Palin, they have done so to me and mine. Their condescending elitist attitudes are not aimed at Sarah but at the very "main street" they are so out of touch with they would not recognize it if it flew up and slapped them on their flabby asses.

Now that Sarah is not "controlled" by the idiots who have decided that it is prudent to "anonymously" trash her, I hope she gives them a REAL taste of true Palin Power.

Check out this Story on Rasmussen and ask yourself: With 70 percent approval rating with most conservatives, what possible idiotic goal could these fellas trashing her have other than to attempt to enlarge their own deflated male egos? And how telling and sexist it all is....

Pissy Moods and General Bitchiness

  • Jun. 1st, 2006 at 10:17 AM
Retro Manly Coffee
So yea, I do admit that I am in a perpetual state of bitchiness most of the time. However, since I have this reputation for being this way, this means that no matter what I do, if I TRY to change, the reputation precedes me and it is just expected of me. I have, in essence, become a stereotype of myself and am bound----shackled---and unable to change even if I wanted to. There is an old proverb---"A prophet is never welcomed in his own hometown." (Luke 4:24) I believe this is apt when one deals with family who have a set picture of who you are and no matter what it cannot change. YOU are stuck in this mold. A prophet's "people"---kin---have known him from birth and therefore can never see him as what he has become, only what he *was*.

And...I have an "Aura" of bitchiness. I am blunt, sometimes abbrasive, cynical, sarcastic, and sometimes rude. All of these do not neccesarily mean I am an outright BITCH, just that I give the impression of being one. I am not wishy washy. I don't waste my time on tact. It is, afterall, a form of mind reading, one must take the time to figure out how another person might react to things then CHANGE how they speak to suit the listener. I just say what I mean, when I want to say it and how I wish to say it and I will be damned if I will be held responsible for someone else's reaction. (Although I find they do try to pawn it off on me with the words: You MADE me...blah blah)

In any case I have made the decision that I am just not into the whole "big group gathering" thing in any form it takes. Give me people one on one, where I can enjoy them for who they are and hopefully they can enjoy me for who *I* am, and I am good. So, from now on, I will not be attending any big family functions, nor will I be giving any. If this offends my family--tough titties. If they wish to see me, visit me, they know where I am, I don't get out much and my phone is nearby. If not...pfff....see ya at my funeral folks.

Ok, so two weeks ago, I went and met Newt, et.al., in Tulsa and was extended an invitation by Lisa (Newt's Aunt) to come down for this weekend's Guitar Show in Tyler, Texas and stay at her house. After checking with her *and* Newt at least twice, I made arrangments to travel down there and bought my ticket.

Lo and fucking behold if NOW-------TWO DAYS------before I am to leave if yet another God Damn human being does not come forth with some kind of BULLSHIT to disappoint me. All of this could have been avoided in two ways:

1. If no one had invited me in the first place, given that the invitation given was fraught with problems to begin with.

2. If I had NOT even considered it a possibility.

I will NEVER do that again. EVER. I am finally, utterly and completely DONE with trusting ANYONE.

No one gets in.

NO ONE.

Some Quick Thoughts on Katrina/New Orleans

Ok some food for thought.

A Tsunami hits the small nation of Thailand. The world responds.

A Massive Hurricane hits the US. The world is silent. Essentially....it is You are on your own, U.S.A.

-----

You release 20,000 criminals from jails and prisons into a city that is without power and the presence of law enforcement. Anarchy ensues. And you are surprised?

------------

The State is *always* the first line in Emergency Management. Why does Louisiana have such a PISS POOR Emergency Management plan? Who the Hell is the man in charge down there?

----------

You have thousands of poor, homeless and disinfranchised people who have no means to leave a city during a Hurricane, you pack them into ANY building, (working facilities or not) and you have anarchy. And you are surprised?

--------

Last word: What a fucking mess.

Day 11 of Retro Grape Watch

  • Aug. 19th, 2005 at 1:35 PM
Anger
Well it is now 11 days since the auction for those retro grapes ended, and I still have not received them. When I contacted the seller, she all but got pissy with me because gee gosh darn whillikers I had the GALL to ask her if she had even SHIPPED the darn things yet. Now generally I am a paitent person, but considering her auction ended on the 7th, I paid on the 8th, and I had another auction end on the 12th and paid promptly and THAT item got here last MONDAY, I find it just a tad ODD that the grapes have yet to arrive.

Not only that, but despite the fact that I paid promptly, I have yet to see any feedback left by her about my part of the bargain. When I asked her about it, she said she did not consider the transaction to have ended til I had the item and was satisfied. In other words, she is holding any feedback on me "hostage" so to speak in case I am actually truthful in my feedback and leave her a negative. (which I do plan on doing at this point)

Her name btw is iamthecrosseyedcow. Since I only get so many characters on the Ebay feedback line, consider this journal entry my "negative" on her. I would have to say that if you are patient as a saint, don't mind dealing with someone who could care less if you are REALLY satisfied, then by all means shop her ebay store, and bid on her stuff. Just be sure and pay by CHECK since sending it by paypal in a speedy manner does not make a hill of beans worth of difference in the time she gets her lazy butt to the post office and sends the thing to you.

Retro Cooking
Well for months I have been telling the cable guys to "check the lines outside my house" for damage or age or something because this problem seemed to be affected by weather. Finally yesterday someone DID.---And it is fixed. *sigh* No one listens to me. The guy came in afterwards and said: "You had a bad section of line going to the pole." mmm hmmm.

Got a lot done however--and plan to do more today. I cleaned all the glass in the dining room, deep waxed most of the wood in the living room, did general cleaning like vaccuuming, dusting, etc. in the other rooms, mopped the floors, did two loads of laundry, watered the plants, ironed and hung curtains in the dining room, polished the silver, painted a bookcase and then took out all the philosophy books stored in the closet and put them in that. Found my copy of "The Great Work" by T. K. (Florence Huntley) and began to read it again.

Today I plan to clean glass in the living room and clean out a closet, but that is about it. Yes, my life is, indeed RIVETING.
